July 2012 saw the premier of the ballet ”Trespass” by Mark Anthony Turnage at the Royal Opera House. It was part of a collaboration with the National Gallery called Metamorphosis Titian. I played the cimbalom in a very complex score.
This was bought from the estate of famous Dutch painter Constant. He was a collector of guitars, lutes and cimbaloms.
Image Reflection Shadow was written by Sir Peter Maxwell Davies for the Fires of London. It was for cimbalom and chamber ensemble. I performed this piece in many parts of the world and also recorded it.

I played with The Punch Brothers and Tbone Burnett on the soundtrack of The Hunger Games on various ehtnic instruments including hammered dulcimer, Appalachian dulcimer, cimbalom and auto harp. It was great to meet Gary Ross and I was amazed to see how passionate he was about the music. We recorded the soundtrack at British Grove Studios in Hammersmith west London. Scenes of Jennifer Lawrence hunting in the Appalachian mountians were depicted by some powerful blue grass music. The first thing you hear is the cimbalom melody.
I recorded this piece, Marimba Spiritual with Evelyn Glennie. It also appears on two other CDs by the same artist: Light in Darkness and Greatest Hits.
Scott Walker used cimbalom on his experimental album Tilt.
This a sample CD I recorded with my friend Terry Emery for AMG. We are jointly known as The Groove Gurus. It is a collections of percussion sounds and loops that can be used in compositions and recordings. The cover picture is by a brilliant artist called Naomi Avsec. She is great at painting monkeys playing instruments.

Asian music. I wrote a peice of music called Faces of Java that was used in the BBC TV comedy show Little Britain. The music appears on a CD called Oriental Journey on KPM/EMI
